The story so far.

2007

Some of you may have noticed that we have decided to take all the old results (2003 onwards) off the website. We wanted to start afresh with the site, as some of the material has been on there for far too long now.

It would be a massive task to summarise the first few years of the club. Quite simply, it has been a major success.

At competitions, we have won well over 250 trophies for both fighting and kata. At some competitions, our students have dominated the sections, with a Romiley student on each step (1st, 2nd and 3rd) of the results podium. Most notably, this happened at the last SKU Nationals in Sheffield, and our 1st and 2nd place trophy winners were fighting above their normal age category as the two youngest fighters in the group!

At gradings, we have continued to do extremely well. On each visit, examiner Sensei Mcloughlin has said that the club always puts on an impressive performance. A small handful of our students have even gone as far as to “skip” a belt twice, being promoted up an extra belt due to their outstanding exam mark.

Our proudest moment to date is certainly the fact that several of our students (our first ever batch of students who came through the door) recently passed their Dan Grades.

These are the following people:

Amy Adshead

Leah Ratcliffe

Amber Marsland

Declan Marsland

Rachel Buckley

Andrew Buckley

Ryan Hewitt

Jonothan Bowers

Steve Buckley

Matt Corry

Alex Lumb

Once again, it has been a difficult task trying to summarise the past few years in a few paragraphs, so we apologise if we have missed anything.

We are optimistic that the future of the club is a bright one and we believe that we will continue to produce more outstanding results and many new Black Belts.

Please keep checking back for regular news updates as it comes!!!

Sensei David.
