About Us:

Romiley karate club was established by Sensei David Moon in 2003 and has already enjoyed unprecedented success on the local and national circuit. We have had countless successful gradings, training a number of our students to obtain their coveted Black Belt Dan Grade. We have entered numerous national tournaments in which we have always been extremely successful, winning many trophies and crowning several champions. We pride ourselves in training all our students to a high standard, whatever their ability.

Romiley Karate started life in a small Sunday School Hall in Romiley. As the club developed, we started to outgrow our venue and so Sensei David decided to look for some permanent premises for the club which would be solely developed and purpose-built for karate use. In 2008, we moved into Pear Mill in Bredbury, but decided to keep the name Romiley Karate so as to be loyal to our roots and humble beginnings.

We moved from the Sunday School in December 2007 as Sensei David and his friends started to develop the new premises. Whilst the new dojo was in development, Romiley Karate Club had no permanent home and we trained above pubs and in small, cramped rooms... anywhere! We finally moved into Pear Mill in March 2008 and since then, the dojo has been developed with new flooring, mats, new training equipment, mats, mirrors and lots more... This has enabled the club to train at a higher level and, importantly, get the most out of the sport.
